Born in Milan in 1980, after graduating in Arabic in 2004, I began my career in the humanitarian field, living and traveling between the Middle East and Africa. My professional commitment in photography started as soon as I felt the need to document the realities I came into contact with thanks to my work. The training in the photographic field arrived after a few years: the technical training (Fondazione Forma / NABA, Milan) is followed by that on reportage (IIF, Milan) and participatory photography (Photovoice, London). In 2013 I created, together with Davide Montenovi, Il Maestro & Margherita – Ethical and sustainable photography, a photographic studio project inspired by corporate social responsibility principles.
I work both in commercial photography and to develop reportage and story telling projects – commissioned and personal – with focus on social issues. I develop projects making use of participatory photography techniques.
Since 2017 I have been head of the Programs and Research department of Lensational, a social enterprise that uses photography to empower women in the most vulnerable communities in Asia and Africa. Since 2018 I have been member of the Women Photographers / Italian Women Photographers association.
